It is known that the day before the deportation a group of 150 SS soldiers of different nationalities (German, Ukrainian and Lithuanian) arrived to Staszow.

Also members of the Polish and Jewish Police (both were under German control) took part in the deportation, however in auxiliary roles.

The Staszow book mentions the following names of Germans responsible for the atrocities in Staszow:

Von Maloschki - arrived from Tarnow in February 1942. He was personally responsible for a number of murders.
Panter - he was a member of the Gendarmerie - according to the accounts published in the Staszow Book also responsible for several deaths.
Obersturmfuehrer Erik Schild (in some sources Schilt) - came from Radom to direct the deportation on Black Sunday. He was executed in Starachowice in 1944 by a soldier of AK as a result of the death penalty given to him by the Court of Justice of the Underground Polish State.

Sadly there are also Polish names of people responsible mainly for extortions:

Józef Suchan - totally loyal to Germans mayor of Staszow. He was known to swindle Jews, promising them help. For his role in the events of the Black Sunday and collaboration with the Germans he was given death penalty by the Court of Justice of the Underground Polish State. The execution was carried out on 3rd November 1943 by the soldiers of AK (Armia Krajowa - Home Army, Polish Resistance).
